About Matthew Nichols
Introduction
I’ve always been drawn to the stories hiding between the lines — the forgotten details, the silenced voices, the events that never made it into textbooks or evening broadcasts. While most people move on when the headline fades, I go looking for what was left out. I’m fascinated by the moments in history when truth became inconvenient, dangerous, or quietly rewritten. That curiosity is what drives everything I write.
Why I Write What I Write
I don’t approach history as a scholar in a tower. I come at it like a storyteller, a researcher, and sometimes a detective. I dig through archives, old articles, forgotten reports, declassified files, and cultural scraps that have been pushed to the margins. What I find are real people — caught in censorship battles, scandals, hidden agendas, and turning points that shaped the world more than anyone realized. My books are where those stories finally get to breathe.

What TrueHistories Is
TrueHistories.com is my home for all of it — the books, the research, the side notes, and the discoveries that don’t always fit neatly into a chapter. It’s a space for the curious, the skeptical, the history lovers, and the readers who always sensed there was more to the story. Here, I share works-in-progress, upcoming releases, behind-the-scenes research, and the threads that connect past and present.
My Style and Approach
I write nonfiction the way I like to read it: immersive, cinematic, and human. I want readers to feel the atmosphere of a moment, hear the tension, and understand why it mattered. The facts always come first — but the storytelling makes those facts come alive. Whether I’m uncovering suppressed history, exposing quiet power plays, or revealing the truth behind familiar myths, my goal is simple: tell the real story in a way that resonates.
What I’m Working On Now
Right now, I’m expanding my work into new books that explore censorship, media influence, forgotten scandals, political pressure, and the hidden battles behind public narratives. Each project takes me deeper into the spaces where history bends — and where truth waits to be uncovered. If you want early access, bonus chapters, or updates on releases, the best way is to join my newsletter. I keep it personal, light, and only send things worth reading.
Invitation to the Reader
If you’ve ever read a headline and wondered what you weren’t being told, you’ll feel at home here. If you enjoy true stories that were buried, ignored, or erased — you’re my kind of reader. Thanks for being here, and for being curious enough to look past the surface. There’s a lot more to uncover, and I’m just getting started

I send occasional behind-the-scenes research notes, upcoming book announcements, and stories that don’t appear anywhere else.
